Turn off solution doesn't work in XP

To turn off the clipboard in Office XP it was stated: "Open an Office application, and select Options from the Tools menu. Choose the Edit tab and turn off the Show Paste Options buttons and Show Insert Options buttons options. Click Ok when you're done. " That solution doesn't work in XP Pro, running Powerpoint (latest version.) Is there another way to turn it off?

Steve, As I said, that solution (article 08-803) which I quoted in my post, and to which your hyperlink refers, DOES NOT WORK in the latest version of XP Pro with the latest version of Powerpoint.

The option recommended for XP does not work for me either. Anyone knows how to disable it? Thanks, Sun

Following the procedure recommended for Windows 2000 works in XP!. Just remember to close regedit and restart your Office applications. See: http://www.winnetmag.com/Article/ArticleID/16284/16284.html Thanks, Sun

Office XP clipboard sucks so bad. I have the same problem. I turned off the checkboxes and it only keeps the clipboard TOOLBAR from showing up. The problem is I CANNOT COPY AND PASTE!!! Hello! That's like the most basic function and Microsoft jacked it up!

The manual way in regedit doesn't work for me either- to disable OFFICE XP CLIPBOARD. When I try to add the AcbValue it doesn't let me, as it says the file 'already exists', although it doesn't show in the registry list. Any ideas?

I'm posting this here (even though the topic is over two years old) because it was in the top results of my google search. The solution was buried 20 pages deep within google...

From Microsoft Word 2003:

1. If the Clipboard is not already onscreen, choose "Edit" - "Office Clipboard".

2. Click on the "Options" button.

3. To hide the Clipboard icon from popping up on the Windows taskbar, uncheck "Show Office Clipboard Icon on Taskbar" and "Show Status Near Taskbar When Copying".

4. To hide the Clipboard task pane from appearing (you can always bring it up manually), uncheck "Show Office Clipboard Automatically" and "Show Office Clipboard when Ctrl-C Pressed Twice".

5. Click the "X" on the top-right of the Office Clipboard pane to close.
