Just to let anyone who is interested know that there is a great little tool located at: http://www.thezjooj.is-a-geek.com in the downloads section that allows you to change these Places Bar icons. It also lets you add 10 instead of just 5. And to put the ol' cherry on top, it is free. I Use it everyday. It is called OPiE 1.o Office Places Editor. Excellent piece of software. The method described in the Annoyances article you referenced does not limit you
to five. I've got ten using that method. No extra programs.

Hi Ricer46, My fault. I didn't word that correctly I meant that it does the same thing without having to edit the registry. And it offers more than the five that MS gives you in the beginning. I think that this app does the same thing that the registry hacks do. I just thought others that aren't comfy editing the registry might appreciate it. No harm No foul. Hope your day goes well :) CausticCompliance

Why not just use PowerToys for Windows XP, which was written by the people who wrote XP, and has been provided for free on the Microsoft website since XP came out?
