Question about 'Customize My Computer'

I have a better way to Customize
My Computer:
The registry edit here didn't work for me; I'm on WinXP Pro. But I had a better idea
and it worked.
I found a very easy way to get "My Computer" to open into Explorer with the Folders
pane; in fact, this also changes all items that can be viewed like a folder (such
as "My Network Places," "Printers and Faxes," etc.) as well as folders themselves.
This is great if, like me, you never want to see a window without the Folders pane.
First, before you get started, I don't know how one would properly undo this. So,
unless you can find out where and how in the registry to change it back, make double-sure
this is the way you want it from now on.
Open up "My Computer" and select Tools -> Folder Options. Click on the File Types
tab, then select the "Folder" entry (NOT the similar "File Folder" entry). Click
on the Advanced button, select "explore," then click the Set Default button. "Explore"
should now be in bold. Click OK, Close, and then try it out.

To reverse back to the original folder view, simply select "open" and set that as
the default instead of "explore".

Just ran across this thread and thought I would add my 2 cents worth, 2 years later....
FYI, the Registry section that controls this is:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell
'Actions' can be added via 'Folder Options' as you indicated, but to delete the action,
the above registry Key is where you need to go.
Credit goes here: http://www.theeldergeek.com/file_list_generator.htm
I just found the tweak & have no connection the site. I did do the tweak shown &
it works fine. Undoing the tweak, as you will read, takes you to that same registry
key that I referenced above.
