i didn't even open explorer and these pop ups keep showing up telling me that i have
spyware/adware installed. each time the pop up shows up my homepage is changed and
this new registry key is made "HomeOldSP" dont know if this will help. so i search
for adware/spyware and i find these keys, i delete them and then moments later the
same pop up shows up and everything that i deleted and changed are back! i could
not find any programs that were running when my computer starts and my programs dont
detect anything that is creating these files. help these cheesy ads with viruses
"doing it" are popping up every 5 minutes, quite annoying...

thank you :]

Before using ANY of these tools, do the following:
Delete TIF’s and history.
Empty your recycle bin.
Disable system Restore.
The reason you need to disable system restore is that many of these pests like to
hide within the restore files. These are protected by Windows, therefore the scans
can’t delete the pests.

Download, install, UPDATE, and run:

Ad-Aware 6.0
Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3
Close ALL browser windows before using these tools.
These will scan for, detect and remove most variants of spyware/adware/malware.

To prevent spyware/adware/malware from being installed on your computer, download,
install UPDATE and run these:

SpywareGuard
Spyware Blaster

SpywareGuard and Spyware Blaster are not scanners. These run all the time to prevent
scumware from being installed on your computer, much like
an anti-virus program protects from viruses/worms/trojans.

Download UPDATE and run:

CWShredder
Close ALL browser windows before using these tools.
This program searches for and removes many variants of the CoolWebSearch.

It is important to run ALL of these programs, as each do something different.
(Make sure to use the update feature of these programs often.)

When finished,
Turn system Restore back on if you wish.

You might also want to download and install:
Google Toolbar & activate the pop-up blocker.
When installing, DO NOT select to install the advanced features.

If you've ran the CWShredder, SpybotD&D, and cleared out all temp files, run HijackThis and post a log here. That HomeOldSP address is a CWSearch hijacker. I suggest you post for help on the SpywareInfo forums. First read this post on the requirements before posting a log. SpywareInfo: How to remove spyware or a hijacker You can install SpywareBlaster, once you get some problems fixed. It doesn't clean spyware but helps prevent further problems. It's unnecessary to install both AW and SpyBot S&D, unless you choose to run both.

Are you sure it's completely taken care of? I ask because that is a hijacker, or did the Shredder fix some things also? I agree, SpywareGuard isn't necessary and is confusing to inexperienced users, but I strongly suggest Spyware"Blaster". That is, if you don't want these things happening over and over. It doesn't need to be running at all to protect your system. No prompts. After you download it, close out running programs. Install then reboot. Start it and check for and download updates. Then enable protection for Restricted sites, as well as IE. Exit. It won't prevent everything, but it's at least something! Check for updates often. There are other ways to protect your system.
