I have a question about Change the icon for Internet Shortcuts:

In Windows XP there is no folder options under view. In the 2k thread a suggestion was given for the icon on the desktop, but how about the one in the start menu? IT is the same as the original on the desktop in that Internet Properties is brought up instead of the properties of the object itself. How can I change this one as well, so this would also apply to the original on the desktop, anyone? Thanks in advance.

Right click it>properties>change Icon..

when you right click it, there is no selection to change the properties of the object, only Internet Properties, so there is no change icon button

go ahead try it yourself, right click it then left click where is says properties-Internet Properties opens up

i completely understand, and am having the same problem. i can change the shortcut icons, including the quick launch one; but not the start menu icon. if you do find an answer will you post?

If you make a short cut of you IE icon that is on your desktop now. The right click (on the shortcut) and choose an icon is there.

I am having the same problem with internet shortcuts.. when i go into properties I just get one tab that does not allow you to change the icon - I tried to make a shortcut to the icon that is already on my desktop like u said gypsy, but I still get the same thing happening.. :(
