Can anyone help: I've searched for all suggestions, but nothing still seems to work. I have Norton AV and Webroot Spyware. Everytime I try and open my Internet Explorer, it continually flashes badurl.grandstreetinteractive.com (since 6/17) I've tried 1. System Restore - it won't let me restore to any dates 2. Restricted the Site (via Internet options) 3. Enabled firewall 4. Ran multiple virus and adware scans. 5. Unplugged, even called my SBC Yahoo DSL help 6. Other misc.. things posted on different boards. CAN anyone help?........

You have a virus, it's a trojan horse virus. I had the same problem and I was able to restore my system, luckily. But a friend of my needed to reformat his HD.

Perform the following:

  1. Disable System Restore
  2. Perform an online virus scan.
  3. Download, update, and run these tools: Repeat as necessary until clean.
  4. To protect against reinfection, download and use these:
  5. Optionally Reenable System Restore
  6. If you still experience problems after doing these steps, download HijackThis and post a log to this forum.

If you encounter any broken links, please inform me of them. Also note that these links direct through my web server to allow me to keep them up-to-date or post additional info.

Uninstall your ISP's software and find out how to configure your Internet connection without it. http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/cfd/

Uninstall SpySweeper from Add/Remove Programs. It's a scam...

Read this information and follow any removal procedures:
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_AGOBOT.TD
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_AGOBOT.JF
http://www.reger24.de/prozesse/realsched.exe.php
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=TROJ_WINDRIV.A

From now on, if any of these items no longer
exist, ignore and fix the remaining.

Kill these processes in Task Manager:
>>C:\Program Files\Support.com\bin\tgcmd.exe
>>C:\WINDOWS\System32\Msrv32.exe
>>C:\WINDOWS\System32\msawindows.exe
>>C:\WINDOWS\System32\iroczb.exe
>>C:\PROGRA~1\BROADJ~1\CLIENT~1\CFD.exe
>>C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe

Fix these in HijackThis:

Definitely Fix

Delete these if they exist. Make sure hidden files are visible.

How is Spysweeper a scam? It is one of the best anti-spyware programs.

Spyhunter, Spynuker now those are scams, but Spysweeper is a useful program.

Back to the issue at hand, Does anyone know the name of this so called Virus/Trojan?
IT would be helpful so I can remove it from this system that is doing the exact same
thing.

Its spyware, Its called VX2 it is produced by abetterinternet.com and Thinking Media. www.spywareguide.com states: The software goes along with the user of the software as they are surfing around the web and builds reports on the activity. The software monitors the click stream activity of the consumer and communicates with servers. The software monitors some activity of the PC and communicates with servers. They do have a method for deleting it.. But at a glance it looks like it is for an earlier incarnation and may not work for this incarnation. The Transponder Group tracks its incarnations you can get more info at thier site: http://www.webhelper4u.com/transponders/index.htm
