I have a comment about What's the difference between Windows XP Home and Professional editions?:

Actually, most of those "extra" tools in win xp pro came default with my version of XP Home, including Administrative Tools and Remote Desktop. I really see no difference between the OS's, just the boot screen on Home is green and the boot screen on Pro is blue. that's about the only difference I could find.

Yes, the page at this site has a couple innaccuracies. That does not mean there
are no differences.

The most important differences involve fairly hidden settings involving networks,
file sharing, and user permissions. If you are using your computer in a corporate
network, that's when you will probably need Pro. Many of the other things are just
goodies.

Probably the most well known feature missing in Home is the group policy editor,
gpedit, although most of its features are in fact available in Home if you know how
to hack the registry.

I understand that XP Pro has Remote Desktop SERVER, but Home only has the client for connecting to the server. But the client is available for Mac also. Or PDA... So, I take it you can't connect to XP Home remotely (such as from work when you are not busy, and play around on your pc at home to kill time... as an example only... I'm not saying I used to spend much of my day doing that in my previous job....)
