From ME to XP now how to xfer pgms & data

I installed XP on a new hard drive (Pri Mast) and have my old ME system on my old drive (Sec Mast). (Or I will have as soon as I make the change) Since I installed XP on the new drive, I have a new copy of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer on the XP system (with my current OE & IE on the ME system). How do I get my old address book, folders, favorites, links, etc. from the ME system to the new XP system? Have not tried it yet - hope there is an easy way. Also, will I have to reload specific device drives on the XP system or will XP pick these up from the ME drive? If I load drivers onto XP there will be two copies (ME & XP). And, will I be able to move my applications and data from the ME drive to the XP drive or do I have to start all over on the XP system. I would like to end up with OS, Pgms and most data on the new XP drive and use the old one for backup and temporary storage. I am currently running on the ME system (Hard Drive is Pri Mast.) with the new XP drive disconnected. Thanks.

In a nutshell, programs will need to be reinstalled. Your data can be moved/copied.

Thanks. Perhaps XP has some way to transfer info, I am most concerned about xfering my address book, folders, favorites, etc. I guess I could run my apps from the secondary hard drive if I had to, then reload them someday onto the XP drive. Seems a littel more complicated with two hard drives and two OS on the same system. How about device drivers? If I reinstall under XP I will have two device drivers on the system (1 = ME, 1 = XP). Sounds like trouble. Seems like this would be a very common problem as it will occur every time some one upgrades with a new drive and keeps the old drive. Should have a simple solution. Any comments?

Look into XP's files and settings transfer wizard. I think you will find that it will do exactly what you are looking for. Each OS needs its own device drivers. Drivers written for ME won't necessarily work on XP and vice versa. When you installed XP, did you take the first drive out or did you leave it in? If, when you boot your machine you get a choice of either XP or ME, then you have a dual boot machine, which is what I am trying to determine.
