I have a question about Top
reasons for random, fatal crashes in Windows XP and Windows 2000:
System:
Chipset: VIA Apollo P/KM266
AMD Athlon XP 2400+
256 MB RAM
S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR (on board)
I had the problem of my XP restarting or rebooting. Sometimes very often and other
times not at all.
The following is from the log (sorry that it is in Danish, but the error codes are
probably the same).

CoGetObject returnerede HRESULT 8000401A.
I got confused about this since nothing worked, and Microsoft did not have a solution
for the problem.
I noticed that my graphics card was not registered, and that windows used some kind
of default graphics driver.
When trying to reinstall the graphics card, XP asked me for VIAAGP1.SYS drivers.
This was not found anywhere on my system CD's.
I found a website describing my problem with the graphics card. His recomandations
solved my problem with the graphics card, and apparantly the problems about rebooting
was also solved in that process. See below for the link to the article:

Well, try and read this article, and see if it helps. It could certainly help if
your chipset is from VIA.
