Question about 'Turn Off the Low Disk Space Warning'

I ran the registry editor per instructions and had to type in NoLowDiskSpaceChecks and I'm still getting the pop-up from Dell stating "Warning event notification, disk free space has dropped below the minimal threshold eventhough I have 68.3GB free on a 74.4GB hard drive. Yet to receive a response from Dell. Thanks Ted Waters

Not sure why you are getting this warning if you have as much space as you say.

Try #65 from this link

It was pretty obscure, and it was a Dell-related software problem. Dell has a network management software product called OMCI (something like Open Manage Client Interface) which is used if a computer is part of a networked environment. The "no disk space" error was being generated by a corrupted component in OMCI. Uninstall OMCI and the error message goes away.

How do I make sure it's completely uninstalled? What's the uninstallation procedure? Can't find this in Add/Remove Hardware.

I found OMCI in the Add Remove programs there and uninstalled it (Dell PW 670). If it's not in your add/remove list, then youbetter check with Dell (good luck with that!) best. Or search your system. d

I have found the solution !!! I contacted DELL and the customer rep told me that this process was designed for the Lattidue Laptop PC’s… and should be disabled on all others!! I have NO idea how/why it’s on my desk top PC!! Anyway…. Follow these steps, Open control panel, click on Administrative Services, services, find the DEventAgent, (rightclick) Properties.... set STARTUP TYPE = 'disable' This will stop the agent/program for starting at the time you boot your system. You can also click on the ‘stop’ button to disable it for the current session only. Hope this helps !!! Bob

I was having the same issue, but my Dell desktop doesnt have the same Control Panel
software structure in XP as you may have, but I found a solution that may work for
all Dell computers that has the minimum disk threshold warning problem.

Solution:

Create the registry Key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DELL\OpenManage\Client\SysInfo
Make a DWord value called HDDThresholdValue and set it to 0

Solution Reference:

Cheers,

OMCI can be disabled in the BIOS. On Dell PC's press F2 at boot-up to access the BIOS. Scroll down and it is if I recall near the bottom under Intrusion or something like that.
