Question about 'Rename the Recycle Bin'

I followed the instructions in Annoyances.org regarding renaming the recycle bin
manually. When I got to "Double-click Default and type the new name" the window
would not let me type in it. I would appreciate any help you can give me with this.
It's not important, but it is a challenge! Thanks in advance.

this works on xp
1. Click Start / Run
2. Type regedit and press enter.
3. Open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT folder
4. Open the CLSID folder
5. Open the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}folder
6. Open the ShellFolder folder
7. Change the "Attributes Data value from "40 01 00 20" to . Windows XP users
rename this to "70 01 00 20".
after you change the 40 to 70 then right click on the recycle bin then goto EXPLOER
HIGHTLIGHT THE REYCYCLE BI CLICK ON FILE RENAME DONE
IF YOU DON'T WANT A NAME JUST THE ICON
Make sure the NumLock key in on. Hold down the Alt key while typing 0160 on your
number pad.
4. After typing in 0160, let go of the Alt key. You’ll see a blank space inserted
with your cursor.
5. Press Enter to save the new name.

In XP-sp2 a simpler way to do this is just to search Registry for ‘Recycle Bin’ and
Modify (right click etc) the string settings (REG_SZ) to your preference. (Far as
I can see the REG_SZs are merely what the machine uses to communicate with humans
and have no role in what it does in itself.) But n.b. use that helpful CLSID # to
check that you are hitting the right spot. In my (new, cleanish) installation there
were only three of these label settings for the dumpster itself. So they probably
:-) control the labels on the Desktop and in the left- and right-column listings
of Desktop folders - at least those have all three changed for me.
I may or may not go back and change the wording of the strings for ‘Empty Recycle
Bin’. It’s good to be in charge.
Thanks for the reminder about TweakUI; haven’t installed the new version yet but
it should make this discussion redundant.
