getting rid of faulty OS choices at startup

I have a question about What
do I do if my BIOS is causing a problem with Windows?:
I have 2 intallations of XP on my computer with a 160GB HD, partitioned into 100GB,
40GB, and 20GB(roughly). I have XP on the 100GB and 40GB partitions. I tried to install
2000 pro onto the 20GB partition, but it didn't install. I also have a 60GB HD, not
partitioned, that I sucessfully installed it on, but then neither of the 2 XP choices
worked in the menu at startup. I formatted the 20GB partition, but the faulty 2000
choice was still in the menu, though it can't be fixed and was formatted. I reformatted
the 60GB HD, and reinstalled 2000, and now there are 2 faulty 2000 choices. How do
I get rid of them and fix the XP choices?
Specs: intel celeron 1200 MHz, WD 160GB HD, Seagate 60GB HD, 4xDVD+-R(W), 512 MB
PC133 RAM

Its Easy!
Right click "My Computer"
Go to "Properties"
Click the "Advanced" tab
Click the "Settings" button under the "Startup and Recovery" section
Choose the OS choice you WANT to boot under the "System startup" section's "Default
operating system"
Uncheck the "Time to display list of operating systems" box
Click "Ok"
Your Done!, Next time you reboot, it wont give you that annoying OS choice menu!
IF you chose the wrong one, dont panic, you can just hit F8 in the bootup process
and there is an option to select os choices.

I do not have any operating system shown under "Startup and Recovery" section. My
Boot.ini is
[boot loader]
timeout=4
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows
[operating systems]
My os choices menu shows 2 Windows(Default)

Try installing XP... nobody uses 98 anymore, except for those old games which didn't
work on XP or 2k (but with the right upgrades it should work.)

I still use Windows 98.

I don't care for all of the fancy bells and whistles XP and Vista has.
I use Win98 because I run an archiving system, and nothing is easier to rebuild that
kind of thing than Win98. For public use computers, I have Windows 2K installed.
(these computers are placed at CaliFUR, if you want to check them out. They are legit,
and I'll comply with any audits performed, except for upgrade audits.)

Hey you don't need to do what that other guy said.. go to start > run then type into
the edit box: msconfig then go to the boot.ini file, then go to the [operating systems]
section and click each topic inside there and then pick 'check path' and it will
promt you for each operating system which isn't found to have a valid path to remove
it from the ini file. problem solved.
