When i tend to install Office Xp it generates error 1711 cannot write to disk.My 
HDD has enough space and i did check my drive for errors but it didnt return any.ADobe 
acrobat and 1-2 other programmes generated almost same error.Is my HDD damaged? Plz 
help :((

I have the same problem. I downloaded itunes and java and neither will install. When I display My Computer, I do not see the Disk drive symbol for drive C although I can access drive C. I hae searched the internet and microsoft for a soulution and haven't had any luck. Can anyone out there help? thanks so much

Hi, if u r installing itunes (or any other s/w which generates this error)try clicking 'Retry' option over and over again until u proceed to next step.This helped me to install office/acrobat.i pray my HDD is safe. Rajev
