Question about 'Stop Windows from Detecting Devices'

I have a question about Stop
Windows from Detecting Devices:
I just installed a new hardrive, using the old drive as a second drive (f:). Windows
detects the old drive as "new hardware" and wants to reboot to "complete" installation.
I just say "NO", and have no more troubles, but how do I stop windows from reinstalling
every time without "disabling" the drive or reformatting?
