Can DDR PC2100 RAM be used with PC2700 RAM in same laptop? My toshiba satellite laptop now has 256mb of PC2700 RAM and I have a stick of DDR PC2100 RAM. Are they compatible? I hope it won't ruin my machine... thanks! Nadia

Hello Nadia, as they are different speeds they are not compatible. If the slower speed was accepted by your computer the entire system would slow down. Merry Xmas!

MAC..they,ll both run on the existing bus frequency...2100, if native to the mobo, will force the 2700 to run at 133mhz also..lol....(fsb)
