Question about 'Uninstalling Windows'

I have a question about Uninstalling Windows:

i want to uninstall windows because i have 2 of them and it asks me which i want when i start up my computer. one of them is infested with virus' and spyware and no matter what i download (stinger, kremove, bremove, mcafee, spy sweeper, ad aware se) nothing will fix my problem, my other computer however has no virus' that i am aware of but i think it is experiencing problems due to the first OS being infected with them and my computer seems to close down internet explorer whenever i try and download anti virus software, or restart my computer randomly if i try and scan for virus' with the above mentioned products and there seems to be nothing i can do. my windows uninstall buttons will not work and i am extremely frustrated with this whole thing. any help would be appreicated

You can try this, boot to the XP you want, delete the one you don't want, edit the boot.ini file to remove the reference to the XP you deleted.

What they're trying to tell you is when in doubt, reformat your HD and clean install the OS of your choice. You described multiple problems with both of your OS's, which you obviously have on seperate partitions. If one of your partitions is as heavily infected and corrupted as you describe, the other may be on it's way out also. Why take chances. Wipe that HD and start fresh and clean.

Search Google on how to edit boot.ini file. It depends on where the second XP is as to where to delete it. If it is on a second partition, then just go to that Drive and delete all the folders related to the Install.

You may not have two installations of XP Home, but rather a fouled up Boot.ini file . To find out, open the System Configuration Utility [Start/Run/type "msconfig" (less quotes) and click "OK"], then click the Boot.ini Tab/then click "Check all boot paths". If one is not valid, remove it Gene
