The little speaker thingy used to be in my tray. Then one day I right clicked on
it to make it do something, and it dissapeared! When I rebooted it still wasn't there,
and when I tried to change the volume the hard way [with volume control in control
panal] it said it couldn't find sndvol32.exe.
Eventually I had to do a google search to find the .exe so I could change the volume.
Is there some [il]logical reason sndvol32.exe dissapeared itself, or am I right about
my comp being possesed?

If you're trying to get the volume control icon back in your system tray try this:
Go to Control Panel ->Sound and Audio then put a check mark in 'put volume icon in
task bar.' If there already is a check mark there uncheck it then recheck it and
hit apply and ok.

I'm not trying to makie it appear again; I just want to know why it did what it did
[made the sndvol.exe file dissapear/delete itself].

Well, that's easy to answer. It's just another marvel courtesy of Windoze.
