I have a question about How do I skip the Product Activation in Windows XP?:

I just installed XP. Is it possible to get the product activation now or do I really have to wait 30 days?

They give you a thirty day trial period so you can check it out and see if it works
well on your system. You can activate any time in the thirty-day period, there's
no need to wait. If you DO wait, the thirty-first day will present you with a system
you can't use until you do activate it.

Why, it doesn't hurt, and you don't have to give them your Name. If you don't register it only takes a few seconds to activate.

Thanks. That's what I wanted. I guess from the other responses I wasn't clear enough. Basically I don't want to wait 30 days; I just want to get it over with now (because this is my laptop and I'll be in a different country 30 days from now and don't want to deal it while travelling, especially as I'll be rather dependent on the laptop at that time.) So your response told me how to go about activating it now, which is what I wanted to know. Thanks.
