How do you turn off disk compression in WinXP Pro? After turning on disk compression I was going to make an image of my hard drive using symantec ghost 7.0. My hard drive is partitioned with c: and d:. Turned compression on the C: partition only. Once compression was turned on the files and folders changed colors to blue. Have gone back and individually turned compression off of files and folders but; ghost still only see's the partition C:. To clarify the c: partition. Windows explorer show the drive letter as c: ghost does not.

I assume you used the built-in NTFS compression? In the properties for your drive, turn on compression and press Apply. Choose to apply only to this folder. Turn off compression, press Apply, and choose to apply to all subfolders and files.
