I have a question about How
do I skip the Product Activation in Windows XP?:
Is it true that Australia is one of few, if not the only, country that employs this
activation policy for XP? If so WHY????

No, but there is supposed to be a (legal) version of Windows XP available somewhere
in Asia where MS have removed the activation requirement to try and encourage people
there to buy genuine copies... don't know how successful they've been with that idea
though ;-)

Yep, happened last year... it stirred up some controversy on a few forums if I remember
correctly - "why should we have to put up with it if they don't?" and similar comments. I
think it was Thailand where MS were going to start selling these copies.
