Question about 'Why don't folders remember their position, sort order, or icon size?'

I have a question about Why
don't folders remember their position, sort order, or icon size?:
I use the browse feature a lot. Whenever I enter my browse feature, the window always
sorts in order of largest file. This is not particularly useful when I'm searching
for something by name. I have not been able to find any way to change the default
sort behavior of the browse window. The "Apply to all folders" feature discussed
on annoyances.org does not fix this problem. Ideas? Is there a registry key I need
to change?

Disclaimer: the solution is a fix through RegEdit. Messing with your registry can
lead to massive system problems. Please use this solution only if you know what
you're doing. By reading this post, you agree not to hold me responsbile for any
loss or damage to your computer or data.
I didn't have any luck here at annoyances.org, but if anyone finds this thread in
a google search, I thought I'd share the solution, which I finally found in the annals
of the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=233526&sd=RMVP
(pops)
In XP, it will reset things like the start menu and maybe some of your desktop icons
(i.e. my computer, my network places, etc.) but if you changed those things in the
first place, you probably will know how to change them back.
