Sometimes when I start burning using Microsoft word, it will convert everything and then start burning. But suddenly, it will stop, sometimes mid-song. leaving me with half a CD and I can re-write because it’s final. I have ruined 3-4 CDs this way. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? is it just my computer? It is making me really mad

Here is some info on using built in XP CD burning> http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/learnmore/bott_03september16.mspx If you want to make a lot of music CD's though you would be better off getting some third Party software like Nero, even a free Program like Musicmatch will do a better job then the default XP capability.

Joe's List / System cleanup

Download and install the trial version of Nero, see if that does the job for you. If yes then you can buy it. Also, as mentioned, you can use Windows Media Player to burn music CDs.

Repair install WinXP / Clean install WinXP
