Mine makes that sound whenever I start/shutdown the printer or my camera. Sometimes there is a several minute lag. What do you have hooked up? Actually, I've recently been getting a pop-up from my taskbar about "incorrent USB port" or something? I can't remember what it says exactly. I have a scanner and mouse that are always hooked up to the USB ports in the back of my tower, then I have a digital camera that I hook up to the front USB ports when I want to upload pictures. Is the computer thinking that something's still plugged in? I'm not really sure why it's doing it all of a sudden 'cause the beeping only started recently, but I've been uploading pictures for a few months.
