Whenever I start up the internet, instead of loading my homepage it tries to go to http://files/Internet%20Explorer/IEXPLORE.EXE. It is driving me crazy so if anybody can tell me what's wrong or how to fix it PLEASE e-mail me at Metalica97@AOL.com. Thank you very much.

not wise putting your email address on a public form....when the last time you scanned for scumware? try below if you have already tried to reset it in Internet Options...

1. Delete Temp. Internet files/History
2. Disable System Restore
3. Perform an online scan and or a file submission scan use more then one scanner as each may or may not detect what the other(s) do not.
4. Download, install, update and scan with ....

  • AdAware SE
  • Spybot -Search and Destroy
  • CWShredder™
    5. Download, install, update and enable all protection with SpywareBlaster to help keep bad ActiveX from installing, and use SpywareGaurd to provide real-time protection against spyware installation.

remove all that is found, repeat all steps 1 thru 4 until cleaned. If problem(s) persist, post back to this thread for further suggestion.

install and use Firefox to do most general browsing as it is cleaner to use over IE.

I've seen this before, and it was caused by a damaged shortcut. Edit the shortcut's properties/target and change it to the program only (with the quotes):

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"

P.S. don't post your e-mail on public forums!
