I have a question about how to delete the content of my windows picture and fax viewer and then how to prevent it from being populated by more unwanted photographs. I believe I can remove items one by one, but this is a long and tedious task. Is there a shortcut?

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer doesn't "contain" any pictures, is it just a front end for viewing them. You need to find the folder that these pictures are located in and remove the pictures from the folder. They will show up in your recycle bin which you can empty if you so desire.
