Window Xp start up fades?

I have a problem with my Window xp. it never did this before but i think after i
added my new dvd drive it did this.
When you start up windows xp and it goes to the Windows Xp sign and the blue bar.
it ususly just turn bright. But now it start from a dark shade and then fades to
a normal colour like how it normal should start. Can tell me how i can fix this so
that it will start up just going from bright normaly, then when it start from dark
to normal?
