For the past couple of weeks my computer keeps crashing randomly followed by the BSOD, with the error message about Aavmker4.sys...Reinstalling windows did absolutely nothing to help my cause, any suggestions?

Aavmker4.sys is to the avast! Base Kernel-Mode Device Driver. are you using or have used Avast! AntiVirus?

Yes I am using avast, so would uninstalling it and reinstalling windows do the trick?
