Question about 'Disable the Insert key in Word (disable INS & OVR mode)'

I have a comment about Disable the Insert key in Word (disable INS & OVR mode):

First, I didn't pick this OS, my company did. I had a much better solution for the INS key. I popped the key off the keyboard. Can't press it any more. (To keep the switch clean, I put a penny over it and taped it down.) To pop the keycap off, use a thin blade & slide it underneath while using other fingers to keep it headed straight up. This works EVERYWHERE, not just Word.

Why didn't you respond to the thread you mention rather than starting a new thread?

Also, there are places where the insert key is usefull, specifically in PowerDesk
(Ins creates a new folder) and in MS-Dos prompt and text based editors.

Brilliant, Bill, Except instead of a penny, I used a dime. It fits better with no need for tape. One stress reduction low tech approach. Joe
