Question about 'Hide all Icons on the Desktop'

I have a comment on Hide
all Icons on the Desktop:
There is a more elegant way to hide all icons on the desktop in XP. You can automagically
hide all your desktop icons from view so your desktop is completely clear, and you
will still have one click access to all your desktop icons.
Simply right click on your task bar at the bottom of the screen and click on “Toolbars”
and then click on “Desktop”. This adds a small “Desktop>>” item to the task bar.
When you click on the “>>” all your desktop icons are displayed, including their
descriptions. Now, to hide your desktop icons, just right click on your desktop,
click on “Arrange Icons By”, and then click on “Show Desktop Icons” (to remove the
check mark). That’s all you need to do.
If you choose to, you may move the “Desktop >>” toolbar to the top or either side
of your desktop by simply clicking on and dragging the “Desktop>>” to the location
you want it. I personally do not like this method because when you move the "Desktop
>>" toolbar it displays the icons. But you can play around with re-sizing the tool
bar if you want to try it.

XP OPERATING SYSTEM
There was a time when I had no icons on the desktop except the Recycle Bin. With
XP I just pin the programs I need to the start menu after turning off the last used
programs feature (which would be better as a MOST used programs feature), however
the few icons which I now have on the desktop have no visible icon as I use the clear
icon, and they just have a short description in all capital letters as I find this
to be less cluttered and therefore more elegant.

XP OPERATING SYSTEM
Just make the shortcut icon in the usual way, and then rename the icon. Open the
Properties box and click on Change Icon. You'll see some blank spaces amongst the
other icons. If you click on the blank space you'll see that it is a clear icon.
Click on Apply, etc. There you have it.
To rename the Recycle Bin there is a fix at Kelly's Korner ...

On my win xp pro, I cannot find the option when I right click on my desktop. I recorded
what I saw in the link below.

Thanks in advance for any help. By the way, utipu.com is great for recording and
sharing screens and it is FREE.
