Dear all, When I try to reinstall the computer, which I am sure the bios can find the serial hard drive, the Windows XP just says that there is no hard drive hooked up to the computer. I am sure everything is OK with the hardware. What's going on? Thank you. Wayne

You need to install the drivers for it. When you are prompted to hit F6 near the
beginning of the installation, you must do so. Later it will prompt you to insert
a floppy drive with the SATA drivers. You must copy these from the motherboard CD
to a floppy disk ahead of time.

Did you partition the hard drive first? Did you try pressing F6 to install a 3rd party adapter?

You need to put the SATA drivers on diskette then press F6 when installing XP and
load the SATA drrivers. Then install can complete.

Did this computer come with XP preinstalled at the factory?

If so, perhaps you should be following the manufacturer's directions on reinstalling
the Operating System.
