When I open internet explorer it will not let me go to secondary pages. It just shows a blank screen.

Sorry but I don't understand your question? 

By secondary pages do you mean  links on the first page that are supposed to take 
you to other web pages?

First check for Malware using and online Virus scanner like Trend's housecall use 
google to find. Then run Spybot, Ad-aware..can be found at www.download.com

Then if still same issue run IEfix found here
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm   Uncheck SFC, reinstall .inf for now

If all else fails post Highjack this log

run Falcons Spyware/Adware/Malware Removal just to see how clean your system comes up just in case.....

Glad to hear it, but question is what caused this? Probably Malware run through scans 
suggested on regular bascis.

I do run ADAWARE SE Professional but it was shutdown somehow about ten days ago. ( I didn't realise ).

You should really follow this routine by Falcon! This issue was caused by Malware, 
wreaks of it. IEFix just fixed damage done by the bugs still present. Follow steps 
to prevent another headache...
