i have a thumb drive that when i insert it i get a message sayin "hardware cannot be rognized" and it does not show up when i go to "my computer"......secondly i get this message from mcafee saying that there is a script file trying to run from that device it tried to get rid of it with mcafee but nothing......i troubleshot it with windows help and i noticed that there are no drivers on it. im not sure if this is the problem because i can find drivers for it so im not sure if its even supposed to have drivers......the thumbdrive is unmarked all i know is that its usb 2.0

So you have an unknown make USB Drive - with no drivers ..... You don't know if it has drivers or if it needs drivers and XP doesn't recognize it ..... It contains some unknown file or script that your anti-virus zeros in on as it tries to run ..... I take it that you're trying to test your system or destroy it and you want to know how to speed up that process ??
