Channel audio in XP to ONE SOURCE APPLICATION exclusively?

I want to: 1) Exclusively use Windows Media Player 10 for all audio and video content (including realmedia and quicktime video/audio). Well that'd be a bonus... Anyone hear of K-lite codec(s)? 2) I want to listen to a huge mp3 playlist in one instance of wmp, AND THEN IN ADDITION watch videos BUT WITHOUT ANY SOUND (and keep listening to my mp3s). Am I dreaming?

I'd consider using WMP or WinAmp for the MP3's and Media Player Classic with the
K-Lite Codec Pack for video, and then mute the Classic Player. That way, all video
will play in MPC without sound, with you MP3 playlist playing in the background through
WMP/WinAmp. I don't think you can open more than one instance of WMP...

Hey! Just happened across my old post and realized I forgot to thank you, John L, for the great advice! I really appreciate it, works like a charm! ;)
