Question about 'Getting Network Neighborhood to recognize newly attached computers'

I have recently added another PC to my home network for a total of 3 now. All 3 have XP Pro and the network for the first 2 always worked fine by just using the wizard, but adding the third PC to the network using the wizard yields nothing. I have made sure they're all on the same workgroup and even changed the name with no success. All 3 seem to have the same protocols and such installed and the indicator light on the router shows that the 3rd PC is connected, but it doesn't show up on the other 2 PCs and they don't show up on the 3rd! I have disabled Windows Firewall and still get no change. I don't know what else to try to get that 3rd PC to show on this network!!!

Is Simple file sharing enabled on the new comp? Is there a Guest account?

File sharing is on and I've tried with the guest account on and off, but logging on doesn't give me an option to log on as a guest even when the account is turned on.

You don't logon to Guest. It's used by Simple File Sharing so needs to be there, that's all. If it's there and SFS is enabled then something else is causing the problem.

Repair install WinXP / Clean install WinXP
