yeah, i wouldn't mess with regedit too much, like that link the dude before me gave
suggests... What exactly happens? The only time I recall I had such problems was
with a CDrom standstill or anytime reading of a drive like floppy goes wrong, usually
i get back the desktop when I have TaskManaged it (ie ended it) and then after i
rejected the CD or floppy.

Excuse me, but there's nothing there about messing with regedit. But, if it
were a registry fix, what's the problem?
Lastly, I'm not a dude...

I don't go hardcore on those registry fixes, fyi. Others may choose to do as they
please. No hard feelings. I have been very garrulous lately, with Rita, you may
know, just passing me by a cinch, .
Oh, and apologies, m'dear, I misread carol for carlos...

Sometimes a registry fix is the only thing that'll do the trick. As long as it's
from a reliable source, and you're not doing the fixing manually, there's nothing
to fear. This one is a script though, a .VBS file.
Btw, this poster's system's infected, judging by a more recent post.
