Question about 'Hide all Icons on the Desktop'

I have a question about Hide all Icons on the Desktop:

I went into the Registry Editor and added the file they told me. I also Downloaded the File for deleting/renaming the recycle bin. But now I want a link to my RB to add to my Quick Launch, and also, no menu appears when i right click on my desktop. Any help would be great. Thanks

You have no right-click menu on the Desktop because you have no Desktop - it's part of the bargain. To get the Recycle Bin to your Quick Launch menu, undo the Registry change (just change the value to zero, you don't have to delete the key), then when you get your Desktop back drag a shortcut of the Recycle Bin to Quick Launch. Then re-modify the Registry NoDesktop key again if you want.

Yeah, Thanks but that didn't work. I already deleted that registry file before. So i made it again and left the value at zero. But no such luck. I set the value to one and applied then back to zero, but nothing. Any help would be cool!!

Delete the NoDesktop Registry key altogether and Reboot the PC. Sometimes refreshing the Desktop with F5 isn't enough to make the registry change take effect. You could try Solution #2 here, but Rebooting is about as fast.

This way works. I have tried it. 1 - On Start Menu, choose "Run" and type Regedit. 2 - a) If you are using the XP style start menu: Search for: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel\ b) If you are working with the classic menu: Search for: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\ClassicStartMenu\ 3 - Inside, right click and create a new DWORD-Value with the name "{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}". 4 - Right click on the new value, choose 'Modify' and change the Value to "1".
