Also, run this program and see if clearing the Index.dat files helps. Download CCleaner Before running it, click Options and specify any Cookies you don't want removed. Do not use the Issues section, if you're unfamiliar with registry cleaners. Then download FireFox and give it a try. IE is garbage, really. If you want to stick to IE for sentimental reasons, clear the cache and restart IE to save JPGs and GIFs again... untill the cache overflows and the 'save as' box switches back to BMP. In short, Windows was sending my temporary internet files to another folder. I'd like to give someone the credit but I don't remember where I found it. In IE click "tools">>>internet options>>>, under the TIF section, click "delete files">>>then click "settings".....On the "settings" page click "move folder"....Move it to your "C" drive>>>OK>>>Close everything out and open the new TIF folder on your "C" drive. If there's anything in it, delete it. Mine had 30,000 files in it. It had so many that I couldn't delete them all at one time. I had to delete 5,000 at a time. No more trouble since then.
