XP Upgrade Install leads to slowness and inability to download thins like Active X

I recently updated from Windows Millenium to Windows XP update SP2. I had some problems with my computer freezing up and thought XP would help. Before installing, a Norton virus scan did not come up with anything. I update my printer files to run with XP and installed XP. After installing it, I had some problems with Norton Antivirus but I was eventually able to remove the program. I also went in and reinstalled XP to try to help it work better. This created a new user id, which makes me wonder if I have it installed on my computer twice. The problems I have are - can't view some of the video on my Comcast website. can't download Active X - the link locks up. can't view certain videos off of comcast (I'm wondering if Quicktime is set as default viwer and causing this) - When I search for the drives under My Computer it takes about 5 minutes to locate the drives. Any one know what might be causing some of this problems?

It is better to clean install XP. I have never heard of an ME upgrade that worked properly.

XP will tend to inherit the problems of a old install when performing upgrades.

I upgraded from Me to XP and had no problems. So now you've heard of one.

One, compared to the overall size of the planetary population, is nothing to crow about.
