Hello! I have tried all the useful tips because my XP one day refused to show the transparent icontext background. Nothing helped except the following trick. Use a command prompt and type: "regsvr32 shimgvw.dll" without the quotes. Then reboot or temporarily change your desktop resolution. That worked for me.
