I have a comment (not a question) about Sort by Extension in Explorer:

Stating that files cannot be sorted by extension isn't true, strictly speaking. All you need to do is associate a different File Type with each unique extension. Then you can just sort by File Type in Explorer, and the entries are sorted by extension also.
