Question about 'Dealing with Bad Memory (RAM)'

After fruitless months of 98 freezing up, I decided to break down and get XP. I could
not properly install it. So I decided on a clean 98.. It too, failing to load. So
I went to the microsoft site out of frustration and they have a nice clean utility
that check your RAM to make sure it's not your system over loading. I'll post the
link to save on searching; http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp .It runs at boot
just follow the instructions. I found one of my RAM cards bad, removed it and loaded
XP on just two of them. Replaced the bad card later.

The link to that mem checker from MS gets posted here all the time if one just searches
for it... Another piece of advice I am always posting is to remove the modules,
take a pencil eraser and clean off both sides of the contacts. Re-insert and try
your test again. You would be surprised how many modules get "fixed" with a good
cleaning.
