Help! Have I completely killed it?

I'm not sure if I have damaged things beyond all repair here..
I KNOW this was really really stupid, but I accidentally deleted the backup copy
of explorer.exe while I was in recovery console..I put explorer.exe from another
computer (also running XP home edition) on a CD and copied it over from there, and
now when I start up I get the "The procedure entry point SHCreateThreadRef could
not be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll" message. I have looked this
up but apparently this message is only supposed to show when service pack 2 has been
installed incorrectly, and no hints on how to deal with it if you HAVEN'T tried to
install this service pack..
Does anybody know what I could try next?
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thank you
Laura

Only thing I can think of is go to dll-files.com and download that particular .dll,
put it in the system32 directory and see if that helps.
