No Sound Card?

It seems my computer can not detect my sound card anymore. This is actually very
strange because it had been working perfectly all year- then I had to move my computer
from one room to the next (disconnect everything). Then, when I plugged everything
back up, suddenly my sound card can't be detected :S
What could have cause this, and how might I be able to fix it?
Thanks

Okay, new problem. I got the sound card to be detected by pushing it in a couple
times. When I booted up, it was detected. However now, no sound comes from my speakers
when I play any music files. I know the speakers work also, because when I scratch
the metal peice coming from the speaker wire on another metal, a scratching noise
comes from the speakers.
Help?
