Go to Windows Update site and check your download history. Check whether that patch
is registered as having been downloaded. If it is not registered then uninstall it
from the Add/Remove in Control Panel and then download and reinstall it again.

Thanks for the reply, I can't see it on the control panel but the many times I downloaded it, it always told me successfull..However if I try to download it from another site it tells me that SP 1 must be installed in order to get it(which is already installed). This is weired and propably is in the system but sort of not executed ?? dth

You should be able to see it in C:\Windows, you will find the file there. Double
click My Computer, click C Drive, Windows, double click the file, it will change
to a folder, open it and select the uninstall.exe That will uninstall it. However,
just to be on the safe side, before you do it, go to System Restore and set the recovery
point. That way you ensure that you can return to your starting point if something
goes wrong (nothing should). Once you have uninstalled it, reboot for the effect
to take place. See if there are any side effects. If there are problems then you
can use System Restore. (There shoud not be any problems because the uninstall procedure
is being carried out the correct way). Finally, go to Windows Update site, download
and install it again.

Can't remember where I found the solution but: Uninstall KB897715, reboot, reinstall KB823353 and then reinstall KB897715. This solved it for me. Olly
