Very odd problem playing sound files

Windows XP SP2, all updates installed, Musicmatch 8.1 default media player. When
I highlight any number of MP3 files and choose play, I not only have my media player
launch, but also get a "Move This File" dialog box open for EACH file I tried to
play. The files play OK, but I am stuck closing multiple dialog boxes. This happens
if I right click--> play, or if I choose the "Play all" choice on the left of the
screen in explorer view. Any ideas?
