USB "Pocket Drive"

My PC will not reconize a Pocket Drive when it is plugged into a USB port. However
this same drive is reconized by my son's PC. Both PC's have the same version of
XP.
What do I do to fix the problem on my PC?

Monte,
Not exactly the same, but I had a similar problem with a Flash Drive. Worked on
work computer but not at home. Discovered that the USB on my home computer was 1.0
and the drive did not like that. Installed a USB Card and Viola, it worked. Maybe
the same for you.

Sometimes "Pocket Drives" are assigned a drive letter already in use, particularly
if you have a mapped network drive. Right click My Computer, select Manage, then
select Disk Management. If you see the Pocket Drive there, check to see what drive
letter is assigned. You can right click the drive and then choose to change the
drive letter to one that is available.

Another reason could be that your device manager doesn't recognize the right driver.
I get this all the time. Go into Control Panel and select Administrative Tools.
Then left-click: Computer Management--> Device Manager (left window)--> Storage
Volumes.
Once there if there's a driver issue, a bright yellow question mark will appear.
Right-click on the Volume in question and "Update Driver". That should help.
