¿Do you have the XP Home CD and does the computer come with a Recovery program to
put it back to as bought factory condition? ------ How does that work, putting it
back like when i bought it? Does it restore the memory, and the local disk space?
Because, This computer that i'm using know. used to have 14.9 GB, now it has 5.05
Gb.. I always try to keep it on 7 Gb or higher but lately i have been doing losts
of photo editing!. I have the recovery CD's and the installation CD for WinXP. How
can I restore the computer to it's factory setting? please can someone tell me. I'm
running WinXp home editon on a Compaq 5000 series .Again if i do that, will it restore
the memory used and hard drive space and local disk space? I'm not really technical
inside a computer! last night I went to the cotrol panel and deleted like 5 photo
editing programs so now im close to 6GB.
I deleted them because the computer was running slow.. But now it's working faster
than it used to.. But I would really like to have it back to it's factory setting!
Is it possible?
----Like I said I have the Recovery CD and the WinXP installation disk!

This new ramble belongs in http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1142527196,
not in a new thread at all. And if you will add just a little normal punctuation
and normal paragraph breaks, then check off "Preserve Spacing", your lengthy, too-dense
blocks of text will become more readable.

Normally you just boot to your CD, and follow the directions. If that doesn't work,
the Compaq web site has instructions on how the recovery CD's work

because the problem here was/is about a different computer and apparently a
different user than the subject of the original message in that thread.

I'm sorry if I have caused problems. I just want to thank Steve for his reply, Thank
you .
I will find help somewhere else. I open this new one because it's for a different
computer. :'(

The Compaq web site should have in the Support section a search box where you put
in the Make, and Model number of the Computer, and you should find detailed instructions
on use of the Restore Software. Use of this type software will vary from computer
to computer.
