Disabling xp home from auto-locking (timing out to the login screen)

Hi,
can anyone Please tell me how / if it's possible to disable xp home-edition from
auto-locking (i.e. from timing out to the login screen)
when it does this, my account is still active, but i have to re-enter my password,
so it's not actually logging out, but i still hate it
at first i liked it, but nowadays i'd much rather only have it require entering my
password when i CHOSE to go back / out to the login screen
thanks

Is your screensaver set to be password protected? Is your computer going into Standby
and then requiring a login? Both of these can be disabled in the control panel /
power options / display options.

no, there's no screensaver, and there's no power-saving options selected either

You have screen saver set to none and power settings set to never? Tht's prety much
all there is that controls this unless you have some kind of 3rd party software that
is doing it.

that's right, i don't get it either!
but disabling the 'welcome' version of the login screen seems to work so far, i think,
i'll post again to say whether it does for sure, but this is the way to do that:
(it doesn't seem to matter that the instructions say they're for xp pro)
