I have a question about How do I see my file associations?:

I am trying to open older versions of WordPerfect files with the extensions w and wp with WordPerfect 9. When I right-click this type of file and select Open With, WordPerfect is not listed. If I browse to the program and click on it, I am just taken back to the Open With list and the program is not selected. I followed your directions for adding a program to the Open With list and WordPerfect now appears. However, the old file formats I'm trying to open now display an Acrobat rather then a WordPerfect icon, and when I click on them, WordPerfect crashes with a "WordPerfect has encountered a problem" error message. Any suggestions for resolving this problem?

when opening the Open With box to select or browse WordPerfect, have you tried checking the 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' option just above the Browse button before clicking the OK button?
