Question about 'Customize the Tray'

I have downloaded the tray aplet but I cannot get it to run. Where can I find the
instructions?
I was hoping that this software would help me to clean up the tray; I got Pest Trap
on my computer but have deleted it.
However the pop-up on the tray still keeps telling me my computer is infected (I
have run my anti-virus software and Ad-Aware and dealt with everything that was identified)
HOW CAN I GET RID OF THIS ANNOYING POP-UP?
Angela

What tray applet, from where, what is it called?
If you have an infected system, follow directions at either of the following:
Malware removal instructions #1 (geekstogo)
Malware removal Instructions #2 (tomcoyote)

Thank you for your response. I found the "customize tray" applet at http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article05-425
and I thought it might enable me to solve my problem. I don't think my computer
is infected because I have run my (up to date) anti-virus software and the Ad-aware
anti-spyware program. The problem now is that the icon in the tray (right hand side
of desktop) is telling me that my computer is infected. This trouble started when
a program called Pest Trap arrived on my computer and I believe that Pest Trap is
malware, is that correct?
